Flyshop

Due to demand from many of our clients, customers and friends, our small premises in Alexandra is now open by appointment to fly fishers who are visiting the area.

Situated on the outskirts of town, with stunning views of the surrounding hills, we have created a welcoming space for fly fishers to relax with a cup of tea or coffee, whilst chatting to us about what’s happening on the river.

Our small flyshop is the only place to visit for up-to-the-minute fishing reports and the best local fly patterns.

We have a small but perfect selection of local, hand-tied flies for sale, along with the basics in terminal tackle, with floatant, leaders, tippet, some fly lines and thigh waders available for purchase. We are not a full retail store and don’t want to be, however,  do have essential items in stock. We carry only the very best in local hand-tied flies, designed and refined by our staff over many decades of fishing the Goulburn River and its tributaries.

We also have waders and fly rod/reel combos available for borrowing, for a small fee, should you forget yours at home or you break your rod on the river.

A huge, old map adorns the wall to assist us in providing you detailed directions to the best access points. Being on the water every day, we can ensure that you have the most current information to maximise your precious time on the river.

If you’d like to stay and relax for a while, we also have a television where you can watch some of the very best in fly fishing films from around the globe. Additionally, you can browse an extensive library of books covering all facets of fly fishing. You are welcome to bring your lunch along and eat in a comfortable space out of the weather.

Cold drinks including bottled water ($1) and cans of soft drink ($2) are available for purchase. Profits from all drink sales will be donated to the Wilderness Society.

Please phone us on 5773-2513 if you’d like to drop in at any stage so we can provide you with our address.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the coming season.

Cheers,
Anthony and the team.
