PATAGONIA FLY FISHING — TREVELIN
Hosted by Anthony Boliancu in partnership with Patagonia River Guides
A Week in Patagonia — Refined, Remote, and Carefully Curated
A small group.
A five-star lodge.
Some of the most diverse and lightly pressured trout water in South America.
Each November, we host a single, carefully selected group in Trevelin, in northern Patagonia — fishing with Patagonia River Guides, widely regarded as the leading outfitter in the region.
This is not a volume-driven trip.
It is a considered, hosted week designed for anglers who value both exceptional fishing and the comfort of returning each evening to a genuinely refined setting.
The Setting
Mornings begin quietly.
Cool air, clear light, and the sense of space that defines Patagonia.
Days unfold across a mix of waters — spring creeks, freestone rivers, drift boat runs, and lakes — each chosen to suit conditions and the preferences of the group.
Evenings are something else entirely.
Good food. Wine. Conversation. A fire when needed.
A rhythm that feels unhurried, but complete.
Watch the Journey
A short film by Patagonia River Guides offers a clear sense of how the week unfolds — from the fishing to the lodge, the landscapes, and the pace of each day.
The PRG Difference
Patagonia River Guides operate with a simple philosophy:
Fish the best water, at the right time, with the right guide.
From their Trevelin base, guests access an extraordinary range of fisheries:
- Gin-clear spring creeks with sighted fish
- Freestone rivers with classic dry fly water
- Drift boat rivers winding through forest and valley
- Remote lakes holding large, often overlooked trout
With access to more than 60 miles of private water and vast surrounding estancias, the experience remains uncrowded and deliberately varied.
No two days feel the same — and that’s by design.
A Week Designed Around You
Rather than a fixed itinerary, each day is shaped around:
- conditions and hatches
- weather and water levels
- the preferences and pace of the group
You might:
- sight-fish to large browns on Arroyo Pescado
- drift emerald runs through Los Alerces National Park
- explore freestone rivers like the Corcovado or Rio Grande
- spend a quiet day on a remote lake
Guiding is typically one angler per guide when walk-fishing, ensuring a high level of personal attention throughout the week.
The Lodge at Trevelin
Set among gardens and vineyard, PRG’s lodge is a true five-star base — not in a showy sense, but in the details that matter after a full day on the water.
Each suite offers:
- spacious layout and privacy
- premium bedding
- modern bathrooms with walk-in showers
Beyond the rooms:
- a working vineyard and winery on site
- a well-stocked whiskey bar and lounge
- outdoor spaces for quiet evenings
- spa facilities including hot tub and sauna
It is a place designed as much for recovery and enjoyment as for fishing.

Food, Wine & Evenings
Hospitality here is not an afterthought — it is central to the experience.
- Breakfast: fresh, simple, prepared to your rhythm
- Lunch: thoughtful meals taken riverside, often with wine
- Dinner: multi-course dining built around local produce and regional tradition
Evenings are relaxed, social if you want them to be, and quiet if you don’t.
For many guests — and especially partners — this becomes as memorable as the fishing itself.
Small Group, Carefully Run
Group size is deliberately limited.
This allows:
- flexibility in daily planning
- a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere
- genuine access to the best water each day
Most guests are experienced anglers, though the trip is not reserved exclusively for experts.
What matters more is an appreciation for:
Who This Trip Suits
This week tends to resonate with those who value:
- a more refined and comfortable style of travel
- variety in fishing, rather than repetition
- small groups over large operations
- time off the water that is as considered as time on it
It is equally well suited to:
- anglers travelling with a partner
- those looking for a complete experience, not just a fishing trip

Hosted by GVFFC
I travel with the group for the week, overseeing the experience from arrival through to departure.
My role is not to guide, but to ensure:
- everything runs smoothly
- the group dynamic works
- and the experience reflects the standard we aim to deliver
Having worked with the same teams for many seasons, we’re confident this will be a trip that will long remain in the memory.
Enquiries
If Patagonia has been sitting in the back of your mind, the next step is simply a conversation.
There’s no urgency in how you approach it — but places are limited, and these weeks tend to fill well in advance.
A text message is often the easiest way to begin. I’ll reply as soon as I see it, and we can either continue via message or arrange a time to speak.

Final Note
Patagonia is not just another fishing destination.
It is a rare combination of wild trout, genuine comfort, and the quiet camaraderie that comes from travelling with a small group of like-minded anglers.
For many who go once, it becomes part of a longer story.
