Meet Your Guide

Anthony Boliancu has guided the Goulburn River full-time since 1994 and is widely regarded as Australia’s most experienced professional drift boat guide, spending more than 200 days each year on its waters. Since January 2000, he has also led annual fly fishing adventures to New Zealand, and since 2010, to the legendary rivers of Montana. Known for his patience, deep local knowledge, and commitment to personalised service, Anthony has introduced thousands of anglers – from complete beginners to seasoned experts – to the beauty and challenge of the Goulburn and beyond.

Make It a Multi-Day Adventure We regularly host 2–4 day trips with multiple boats for groups. Stay at our private Trout Haven House or choose from nearby hotels and homesteads. Since the early 1990s, GVFFC has led the way on the Goulburn.

We were the first to offer guided drift boat trips in Victoria, introducing a style of fly fishing previously unseen on Victorian rivers.

For over two decades, our drift boats were the only ones on the river – long before others followed. We established a fly shop on the river itself, built lodge accommodation, developed private lakes, and created a business based on premium fly fishing experiences.

While others “guides” visit occasionally, we live and breathe this river year-round. Our local knowledge, consistency, and unmatched safety record (zero incidents in 30+ years) are a testament to that.

Booking & Enquiries Ready to plan your drift?

A $100 deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is due 14 days prior to your scheduled drift boat trip. If you make a booking within 14 days of the trip date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy

• If you cancel more than 14 days in advance, your deposit is non-refundable, but transferable to a different date if we can rebook your spot.

• If you cancel within 14 days of your trip, or fail to show, the full trip price is charged. However, if we are able to rebook your cancelled spot, your payment will be fully transferable to another date.

• All trips proceed in all weather except under unsafe conditions (e.g. lightning, extreme river flows). Forecasts of rain or wind alone are not valid reasons for cancellation.

• If fewer guests attend than booked, payment for all reserved spots still applies.
